Nici Gilday delivered one of the performances of the season with 46 points as Goldfields outlasted East Perth 116-112 in overtime at Niels Hansen Basketball Stadium. Gilday shot a remarkable 60 percent from the field and 75 percent from three, adding nine rebounds in a stellar display that countered Sasha Goodlett's 41-point, 15-rebound double-double for East Perth.
In a contest that featured 56 lead changes and 27 ties, both teams traded baskets throughout regulation before Goldfields prevailed in the extra period. East Perth's Abby Cubilo recorded a rare triple-double with 21 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists, but Goldfields' superior shooting (54.3 percent to 40.8 percent) proved decisive. Erin Antosh contributed a 20-point, 11-rebound double-double for the victorious home side.
Perth 78 def Perry Lakes 72 — Watch the Replay
Natalie Chou's spectacular all-around performance powered Perth to a 78-72 victory against Perry Lakes at Albany Leisure and Aquatic Centre. Chou delivered 24 points on 66.7 percent shooting while adding an impressive six steals, as Perth overcame Megan McKay's outstanding 28-point, 15-rebound double-double for Perry Lakes.
Perth's defense was the difference-maker, forcing 28 turnovers while committing just 22 of their own. Anneli Maley contributed a double-double with 22 points and 13 rebounds for Perth, who led for over 30 minutes of the contest. Despite Perry Lakes' superior rebounding effort (51-45), their poor shooting from three-point range (23.1 percent) ultimately cost them the game.
Warwick 89 def Willetton 40 — Watch the Replay
Kyana Weir exploded for 21 points as Warwick dominated Willetton 89-40 at Warwick Stadium. The home side was efficient from the field, shooting 41.25 percent compared to Willetton's dismal 25 percent, while Stacey Barr recorded a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds.
Warwick's defensive pressure was exceptional, generating 16 steals and forcing 27 turnovers. Eva Langton was the only bright spot for Willetton with 11 points and nine rebounds in a game where they managed just three makes on 27 three-point attempts (11.1 percent). Warwick pulled away with a 17-0 run during the contest and led by as many as 49 points.
Joondalup 116 def Eastern Suns 85 — Watch the Replay
Jorjah Smith lit up HBF Arena Joondalup with 22 points on 5-from-9 from three-point range as Joondalup defeated Eastern Suns 116-85. The home team showcased their offensive prowess with 35 assists and 45.7 percent shooting from beyond the arc, featuring six players scoring in double figures.
Kurstyn Harden dominated inside with 18 points and 10 rebounds on 70 percent shooting for Joondalup, who controlled the boards 50-27. For Eastern Suns, Karly Murphy worked tirelessly for 22 points on 47.6 percent shooting, but her team's rebounding woes proved too much to overcome. Joondalup led by as many as 32 points in this comprehensive victory.
Cockburn 129 def SW Slammers 67 — Watch the Replay
Sarah Mortensen delivered a dominant 25-point, 14-rebound double-double as Cockburn crushed SW Slammers 129-67 at Wally Hagan Stadium. Cockburn's offensive onslaught included shooting 54 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three-point range, with Stephanie Gorman adding 23 points on 7-from-12 from beyond the arc.
The Slammers struggled throughout, shooting just 33.8 percent from the field and a dreadful 14.3 percent (4-from-28) from three. Mykea Gray scored 23 points in a losing effort for the visitors, who were out-rebounded 60-29 and allowed Cockburn to score 56 points in the paint. Jessie Edwards contributed 20 points on exceptional 66.7 percent shooting as Cockburn led by as many as 62 points.
