Reports suggest Patty Mills is close to joining San Pablo Burgos as the ACB club battles relegation.

"FIBA Patty" Mills is on the verge of signing with Club Baloncesto San Pablo Burgos in Spain's First Division, Liga ACB, reports Basketball&SportManagement.

NBA champion Mills, 37, is an unrestricted free agent after playing his 17th season in the NBA for the Los Angeles Clippers and Utah Jazz.

The Boomers great is currently serving as General Manager of Basketball at the University of Hawaii and is understood to be close to reaching an agreement with the Spanish club. Should the deal be completed, reports suggest Mills would not make his debut until the new year.

He would join a roster lacking in significant international experience beyond Brazilian point guard Raul Neto, who enjoyed an eight year career in the NBA.

San Pablo Burgos is fighting to stave off relegation to the Spanish Second Division. They are last of the 18 teams in the league with a record of 1-8, with the bottom two teams on the ladder being relegated each season.

MORE TO COME.
