Southern Districts 85 def Gold Coast 81 — Watch the Replay
Tamuri Wigness delivered a spectacular 37-point performance as Southern Districts secured an 85-81 win against Gold Coast at The Southport School. Wigness was outstanding from the field, shooting 14-from-28 (50 percent) while adding seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Reuben Te Rangi led Gold Coast with 22 points and nine rebounds, supported by Boston Mazlin who contributed 21 points.
The contest featured 13 lead changes with Southern Districts overcoming a 13-point deficit at one stage. Gold Coast struggled to maintain possession, committing 17 turnovers which Southern Districts converted into 11 points. Both teams shot below 30 percent from three-point range with Southern Districts connecting on 7-from-25 (28 percent) and Gold Coast managing 8-from-29 (27.6 percent).
Brisbane 81 def Sunshine Coast 74 — Watch the Replay
Isaih Tueta exploded for 28 points as Brisbane edged Sunshine Coast 81-74 at Auchenflower Stadium. Tueta was on fire from beyond the arc, connecting on 6-from-10 three-pointers (60 percent) while dishing out seven assists. Deshawn Ross-Paiwan paced Sunshine Coast with 17 points, while Elias Cato and Nelson Kahler each recorded double-doubles with 15 points and 11 rebounds, and 15 points and 12 rebounds respectively.
The thrilling contest featured 33 lead changes and 11 tied scores, showcasing the competitive balance between the teams. Brisbane's superior ball movement was evident with 21 assists compared to Sunshine Coast's 11. Both squads battled on the boards with Brisbane securing a slight 49-48 rebounding advantage. Nelson Kahler was perfect from the field for Sunshine Coast, shooting 7-from-7, but the team's 27.6 percent shooting from three-point range ultimately proved costly.
