Reath perfect but Blazers get a Durant Rocket
Highlights
It was a quiet day for Aussies in the NBA but our G League stars put together some highlights
- Alex Sarr’s NBL roots with Perth are paying off as he emerges as a dominant force for the Washington
- Is this the greatest dunk in Australian NBA history?
- Dyson Daniels record-tying feat is 'LA Story'
Australian Boomers big man Duop Reath's hot shooting doesn't show any signs of slowing down despite limited playing time with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Reath is currently shooting 55% from the field and 58% from the three-point line but has failed to gain any significant court time since helping Portland send defending champions, the Oklahoma City Thunder, to their first loss of the season on November 6 where he played 20 minutes and scored 12 points.
The Olympic bronze medallist has not played more than 12 minutes in Portland's last four games, which has included three losses for the Trail Blazers.
NBA Box Score: Houston Rockets vs Portland Trail Blazers
Duop Reath was perfect from the field but his Portland Trail Blazers were smashed 140-116 by the Houston Rockets in the Emirates Cup at Toyota Center.
Reath played just seven minutes but went 2-from-2 from the field and 1-from-1 from beyond the arc for five points in the 24-point defeat. Matisse Thybulle didn't play again, former NBL Next Star Rayan Rupert had one point in five minutes for Portland.
NBA Box Score: Milwaukee Bucks vs Charlotte Hornets
Australian wing Josh Green is still sidelined with a left shoulder injury. Green is yet to play for the Charlotte Hornets this season.
The Milwaukee Bucks beat the Hornets 147-134 with Kyla Kuzma leading the way with 29 points.
NBA Box Score: Minnesota Timberwolves vs Sacramento Kings
Aussie veteran Joe Ingles was a DNP Coach's Decision in a 124-110 win for the Minnesota Timberwolves over the Sacramento Kings at the Target Center in their Emirates Cup group clash.
Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards led the scoring with 30 points for Minnesota.
NBA Box Score: Dallas Mavericks vs LA Clippers
Aussie guard Dante Exum did not play as he still recovers from a knee injury suffered during preseason. The Clippers beat the Mavericks 133-127 in overtime.
NBA Box Score: San Antonio Spurs vs Golden State Warriors
Golden State two-way forward and former NBL Next Star Alex Toohey is with the franchise's G League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors. Golden State beat the Spurs 109-108.
NBA G LEAGUE UPDATE
Cleveland Charge def Wisconsin Herd 115-113
Aussie two-way forward Luke Travers was the most dominant player on court as he led the Cleveland Charge to a two-point win over the Wisconsin Herd in the G League.
Travers, who impressed for the Cavaliers in the NBA just two days ago against the Miami Heat, had 21 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 32 minutes. The former Perth Wildcats and Melbourne United young gun went 7-from-22 from the field and 3-from-10 from the three-point line. He also had a thunderous highlight dunk against the Herd.
It's an important year for Travers, who is on a two-way deal for the second consecutive year, with Cleveland Cavaliers beat reporter Danny Cunningham recently telling basketball.com.au that was the typical timeline the NBA franchise kept players on two-way contracts before either signing them to a full roster spot or letting them go elsewhere.
College Park Skyhawks def Capital City GoGo 121-113
Former NBL big man Akoldah Gak had eight points in 18 minutes in Capital City's eight-point loss to the College Park Skyhawks.
Gak, who last played for the Cairns Taipans, went 4-from-7 from the field and had four rebounds.
