Series tied 2-2
Donovan Mitchell erupted for 43 points as Cleveland wiped out Detroit’s halftime lead with a franchise-record 24-0 playoff run to level the series.
Mitchell tied Eric “Sleepy” Floyd’s NBA playoff record with a free throw with 27.6 seconds left, but missed his second attempt that would have broken the mark set against the Los Angeles Lakers in 1987.
Australian point guard Tyrese Proctor was in the game for less than minute in the fourth quarter and was -4 until the Cavs put their starters back in after conceding a 13-2 run late in the ball game.
Mitchell scored 39 points in the second half, tying the NBA playoff record, while James Harden added 24 points and 11 assists. Evan Mobley anchored the interior with 17 points, eight rebounds, five blocks and three steals.
Detroit led 56-52 at halftime before Cleveland flipped the game with a 38-21 third quarter. Caris LeVert led the Pistons with 24 points off the bench, while Cade Cunningham was held to 19 points.
