Highlights

Barnes, Fox and Wembanyama headline Game 4 as series swing across both conferences

Basketball unicorn Victor Wembanyama returned from concussion protocol with authority, posting 27 points, 11 rebounds and seven blocks as the San Antonio Spurs stormed past Australian Boomers' Matisse Thybulle's Portland Trail Blazers 114–93 to take a 3–1 series lead.

Cleared less than an hour before tip-off, Wembanyama anchored a second-half turnaround after San Antonio trailed by 17 at halftime. The Spurs opened the third quarter on a 13–0 run, flipping momentum before taking control late.

De'Aaron Fox added 28 points, with back-to-back threes helping push the margin to double digits in the fourth. Keldon Johnson’s late dunk effectively sealed it.

Portland, led by Deni Avdija (26 points), faded after a strong first half. A late fourth-quarter shove between Avdija and Stephon Castle underscored rising tension as the series shifts to San Antonio for Game 5.

  • Largest Lead: CLE +9 │ TOR +6
  • Game Context: Toronto flipped control in Q2 and closed late

Scottie Barnes delivered a complete performance to lead Toronto to a 93–89 win, levelling the series at 2–2 despite both teams struggling from the field.

Barnes finished with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, doing most of his damage at the line (11–14 FT) as Toronto leaned into physical half-court offence.

For Cleveland, Donovan Mitchell led with 20 points, but shot 6–24 from the field, emblematic of a Cavaliers offence that generated looks but couldn’t convert consistently.

Toronto’s second quarter (24–19) was the first swing — but the real separation came through possession control:

  • Turnovers: TOR 12 │ CLE 18
  • Rebounds: TOR 59 │ CLE 56
  • Free Throws: TOR 27–36 │ CLE 15–23

Even shooting 32% from the field and 13% from three, Toronto manufactured offence through extra possessions and foul pressure.

Cleveland, by contrast, led for 69% of game time but couldn’t sustain efficiency late.
