Another triple-double puts Giddey over the Hill

Bulls star Josh Giddey has moved past another NBA legend after recording his 30th triple-double

Passing NBA legends is becoming a thing for Josh Giddey after a triple-double within three quarters against the Memphis Grizzlies helped him move past Grant Hill just days after eclipsing Michael Jordan on the NBA's all-time triple-double list.
Giddey, who passed Jordan with his 29th triple-double against the Los Angeles Clippers on March 14, was simply dominant in three quarters against the Grizzlies with 13 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists with a quarter remaining in the contest.
A contest which the Chicago Bulls are currently leading.
It's Giddey's 30th career triple-double with the Australian Boomers moving past Hill - an NBA legend who played for the Detroit Pistons, Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic and Clippers - into outright 19th on the record list.
He now sits just two triple-doubles behind Boston Celtics icon John Havlicek at 31 and is only four away from becoming the highest Aussie on the list and passing three-time NBA All-Star Ben Simmons at 33.
His triple-double against the Grizzlies was his 12th this season, putting him at third in the NBA, behind Nikola Jokic and Jalen Johnson.
The former Adelaide 36ers NBL Next Star is also only nine away from tying Jordan for the most triple-doubles in a Bulls uniform after recently passing six-time champion Scottie Pippen for second on the list.
NBA champion and Australian Boomers legend Andrew Gaze, who has known Giddey since he was a child, recently spoke about the point guard's journey on an episode of Cut to the Jase.
"With Josh Giddey, it's a bit different for me because I've known him since he came out of the womb," Gaze said on the basketball.com.au podcast.
"Being there his whole (time), I remember him as a smartass cheeky little kid and then seeing him now, it's a little different for me as the way in which I watch him.
"But never in your wildest dreams would you think of how it all could pan out in a good way.
"Who would have ever thought that he's having his records compared to Scottie Pippen and Michael (Jordan)?
"I mean that is just hard to fathom how that would be the case.
"So yeah he's great, he looks like he's loved by his teammates and he's going to have a long and and by the look of things successful career."
