Sydney guard Kendric Davis said he was still learning his teammates and was "about 80%" as he scored just under a point a minute in the Kings 97-75 win against the New Zealand Breakers in Round 3 of NBL26 at Qudos Bank Arena.
Davis, 26, said in the post game on-court interview he'd only been working out with his new teammates, after the move from the Adelaide 36ers, for the past two weeks and he's "not where he needs to be", spending a lot of time with head coach Brian Goorjian.
The Kings are 1-1 and Brisbane 1-3.

What Happened

The Sydney Kings established their dominance early, taking a 22-15 lead after the first quarter. While the Breakers responded in the second period, outscoring the Kings 19-17, Sydney maintained a five-point advantage heading into halftime at 39-34.
Sydney blew the game open in the third quarter with a devastating 31-18 run that featured sharp outside shooting and stifling defence. Kendric Davis was instrumental during this stretch, connecting on several key baskets to extend the Kings' lead to 18 points heading into the final frame.
Davis delivered an outstanding performance, shooting an efficient 11-from-17 from the field, including 2-from-4 from beyond the arc. His aggressive scoring attack forced the Breakers' defence to collapse, creating opportunities for teammates throughout the contest.
The Kings' superior shooting proved decisive, as they connected on 50.7 percent of their field goal attempts (37-from-73) compared to New Zealand's 40.9 percent (29-from-71). Sydney also dominated from three-point range, hitting 11 triples to New Zealand's six, with the Breakers struggling at just 18.8 percent from deep.
Ball security was another significant factor in the outcome, with Sydney committing just seven turnovers to New Zealand's 12. This differential allowed the Kings to attempt more shots and maintain control of the tempo throughout the contest. Tim Soares provided excellent interior support for Sydney with 16 points, eight rebounds and two blocks, while Matthew Dellavedova facilitated the offence with seven assists despite not scoring.
