Sitaya Fagan's 30-point clinic squashes Hornets
NBL1 East Round 6 on May 10, 2025: Neubert's Double-Double, Loader's 30-Point Game

BA CoE vs Inner West
BA CoE (83) defeated Inner West (77) at Concord Recreational Centre. Isabel Smith led the way with 22 points on efficient 8-from-15 shooting, while Jade Crook and Sitaya Fagan each contributed 17 points. Emilija Dakic orchestrated the offense with seven assists alongside 11 points.
The young BA CoE squad showed impressive poise, building a 19-point lead before withstanding Inner West's comeback attempt. Despite Mizuki Wakamatsu's outstanding 23-point performance and twin 21-point games from Tahlia Tupaea and Kristina Moore, Inner West couldn't complete the comeback. Tylah Mundine grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds for Inner West in the losing effort. BA CoE's balanced attack featured four players scoring in double figures while shooting 41 percent from the field.
Hills vs Albury Wodonga
Albury Wodonga (96) dominated Hills (80) at Hills Basketball Stadium. Caitlyn Jones delivered a stellar performance with 30 points, nine rebounds and four assists, while Brynn Masikewich added 29 points on an outstanding 11-from-14 shooting. Riley Lupfer contributed 14 points and four assists in the victory.
Albury Wodonga's efficient offense shot a remarkable 47 percent from the field and controlled the tempo throughout. Masikewich was nearly perfect, making all eight of her two-point attempts and shooting 3-from-6 from three. Hills was led by Jade Kirisome's 23 points and Elizabeth Smith's all-round effort of 18 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Lucy Corke provided a spark with 15 points including four triples. Albury Wodonga maintained control, leading for nearly 38 minutes of game time.
Penrith vs Illawarra
Penrith (81) edged past Illawarra (76) at Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre. Jordan Vasquez recorded a dominant double-double with 29 points and 11 rebounds, while Mia Heide added another double-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and five steals to secure the home victory.
This tightly contested matchup featured 10 lead changes and five ties, with Penrith eventually pulling ahead in the final quarter. Illawarra's Asha Phillips delivered an exceptional performance with 26 points on 9-from-15 shooting, including 6-of-6 at the free throw line. Tsubasa Nisbet added a double-double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, and five steals for Illawarra. Penrith's defense forced 24 turnovers while dominating second-chance points 17-10 to overcome their own shooting struggles.
Central Coast vs Maitland
Maitland (82) overcame Central Coast (73) at Maitland Federation Centre. Kasey Neubert dominated with 28 points and 21 rebounds on efficient 12-from-19 shooting. Shakera Reilly contributed 20 points including four three-pointers, while Sydney Hunter recorded a double-double with 15 points and 13 rebounds.
The competitive contest featured 13 lead changes and five ties, with Central Coast holding a 12-point advantage at one stage. Elizajane Loader delivered a stellar performance for Central Coast with 30 points and 17 rebounds, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. Maitland's decisive 57-47 rebounding advantage and superior 40 percent field goal shooting proved the difference, as Central Coast struggled from the field at just 29 percent. Leilani Mitchell added 15 points for Central Coast in the losing effort.
Norths Bears vs Penrith
The Norths Bears (Round 6) claimed an impressive 94-77 victory against Penrith at North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre. Madeleine O'Hehir led the Bears with 21 points on efficient 60% shooting, while Emma Donnelly contributed 15 points, and Caitlyn Martin added 14 points and eight assists in the win.
The Bears dominated from beyond the arc, shooting an outstanding 44.4% on three-pointers, making 12 of their 27 attempts. Penrith struggled to match this outside shooting, converting just 20% of their attempts from deep. Despite Jordan Vasquez's phenomenal 27-point, 21-rebound double-double and Mia Heide's 19 points and 13 rebounds, Penrith couldn't overcome the Bears' balanced attack that featured five players scoring eight points or more.
BA CoE vs Hills
The BA CoE (Round 6) dominated Hills 90-48 at Hills Basketball Stadium behind Sitaya Fagan's explosive 30-point, 10-rebound performance. Fagan shot an efficient 45.8% from the field, adding four offensive rebounds and three assists. Isabel Smith added 20 points including 4-of-6 from three-point range, while Zara Russell contributed 14 points.
The Centre of Excellence displayed their trademark ball movement, recording 24 assists to Hills' 12, while also dominating the boards with a 60-39 rebounding advantage. BA CoE's defence was equally impressive, forcing 21 turnovers and converting them into 11 points. Jade Kirisome led Hills with 17 points but received little support as the home team struggled from beyond the arc, shooting a dismal 18.9% on their three-point attempts.
Bankstown vs Albury Wodonga
Albury Wodonga (Round 6) secured an 87-77 road win against Bankstown at Bankstown Basketball Stadium. Caitlyn Jones delivered a spectacular performance with 29 points, eight assists and seven steals, while Riley Lupfer added 21 points and Brynn Masikewich contributed 13 points and seven rebounds.
The visitors' uptempo approach was the difference, outscoring Bankstown 23-6 in fastbreak points. Bankstown's Jada Rice posted a stellar 22-point, 13-rebound double-double on exceptional 69.2% shooting, and Sienna Tutani added 13 points and eight rebounds. Despite winning the rebounding battle 46-34, Bankstown's 27 turnovers—many forced by Albury Wodonga's active hands—ultimately proved too much to overcome.
Central Coast vs Inner West
Inner West (Round 6) defeated Central Coast 89-74 at Breakers Indoor Sports Stadium behind Kristina Moore's exceptional triple-double of 35 points, 18 rebounds and five assists. Moore was nearly unstoppable, shooting 60% from the field and 50% from three-point range. Mizuki Wakamatsu added 15 points, while Ai Matsumoto contributed 13 points and seven assists.
Central Coast's Leilani Mitchell led the visitors with 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Jasmine Forcadilla scored 22 points and Mikaela Dombkins delivered a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Inner West's three-point shooting proved decisive, as they connected on 14-of-31 attempts (45.2%) compared to Central Coast's 7-of-29 (24.1%), allowing them to pull away in the second half.
Hornsby KuRingGai vs Illawarra
Illawarra (Round 6) edged Hornsby KuRingGai 87-79 in a thrilling contest at The Brickpit that featured 22 lead changes. Kiara Bell dominated with 25 points and 15 rebounds, while Ella Dent added 21 points, 10 rebounds and two steals. Asha Phillips contributed 15 points and five assists in the victory.
Jessie May Hall led Hornsby with 27 points, six rebounds and eight steals in a stellar all-around effort, while Keira Hudson added 23 points. Despite forcing 17 turnovers and recording nine steals, Hornsby struggled on the boards, getting outrebounded 55-33. Illawarra's offensive rebounding edge (28-10) proved crucial as they generated 18 second-chance points compared to Hornsby's zero.
Canberra vs Maitland
Maitland (Round 6) secured a 75-68 victory against Canberra at Maitland Federation Centre. Alexis Plater led the way with 18 points on an outstanding 70% shooting, while Mila Wawszkowicz added 17 points including three triples, and Shakera Reilly contributed 14 points and six rebounds.
Canberra's Abby Solway scored a team-high 19 points and Carlie Smith recorded a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Despite Smith's four steals and Canberra's 11-7 advantage in that category, Maitland's efficiency proved the difference. The home team shot 46.8% from the field compared to Canberra's 40.3%, helping them overcome a 30-minute deficit to claim the win.
Newcastle vs Sutherland
Newcastle (Round 6) dominated Sutherland 92-64 at Sutherland Basketball Stadium behind Nicole Munger's impressive double-double of 17 points and 14 rebounds. Kate Kingham matched Munger with 17 points and added five assists, while Hannah Chicken and Meg Jefferson each contributed 14 points.
Newcastle's balanced attack featured five players scoring in double figures, and their team ball movement was exceptional with 27 assists on 33 made field goals. Sutherland's Madeleine Norris scored a game-high 20 points including five three-pointers, but received little support as the home team shot just 30.3% from the field. Newcastle dominated the glass with a 64-45 rebounding advantage, leading to a substantial 19-12 edge in second-chance points.
Manly Warringah vs Sydney
Manly Warringah (Round 6) stifled Sydney 63-41 at Comets Stadium in a defensive showcase. Alex Delaney led the victors with 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists, while Taylor Wurtz added 13 points and Sari Mowbray contributed 11 points, six rebounds and three steals.
Sydney struggled mightily on offence, shooting just 27% from the field and a woeful 10.5% from three-point range. Abigail Curtin posted a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, and Piper Anderson added 11 points, but Sydney's 23 turnovers proved costly. Manly's defence was the story of the game, recording 18 steals and holding Sydney to just 41 points—the lowest total in NBL1 East Women's action this round.
