More than a third of NBL26 games have ended in 20-point blowouts after just 45 contests.

Illawarra Hawks head coach Justin Tatum apologised to the defending NBL champion's fans for being torn apart 102-60 by the New Zealand Breakers on Friday night.

"I first want to apologise to our fans and our members for the lack of effort that we gave today," Tatum said.

"As a whole and as a team, we will definitely do better next home game on Wednesday."

The Hawks have lost two games this season by a combined 82 points, the two worst losses in the league this season but, the reality is, they are not alone.

  • 26 games (57.8%) were decided by > 10 points.
  • 19 games (42.2%) were decided by ≤ 10 points.
  • Total games ≥ 15 pts: 23 (51.1%)
  • Total Games Decided by ≥20 Points: 16 (35.6%)

There have been 16 +20-point blowouts in the NBL26, that represents more than a third of all 45 games.

The latest blow-up came last night as the Sydney Kings demolished the Brisbane Bullets (at home) 116-79, the fourth worst blow-out of the season.
