We're calling this the "Brandon Knight" Ultimate SuperCoach NBL Team for Round 3 – built for new players.
It's a Derek Rucker-inspired less-than-subtle sledge at the Perth Wildcats front office for not starting the season with a much-needed point guard, and for still not playing in NBL27.
It's not too late to sign-up and start piling up SuperCoach points. There's $500 up for grabs every week for the team that scores the most points.
Much like the Wildcats, this SuperCoach NBL team is for anyone who hasn't played SuperCoach NBL this season and, much like Perth, it's not too late to join - there's no time like the present - and accept that invite to a friend's league, or start your own.
Ironically, the "Brandon Knight" doesn't actually include Brandon Knight because the NBA journeyman is still to arrive in Australia.
This team is optimised for Round 3 to get you started based on the first two rounds of NBL27.

How this table is built, and where the numbers come from
Why this squad for Round 3
- Built for the double-headers. Eight of the 10 play twice in Round 3, and the squad plays 63 games across Rounds 3-6. Brisbane (Velicka, Hinton, Mackinnon) double in Rounds 3, 6, 7, 8 and 9. Illawarra (Froling, Adnam) have six doubles in Rounds 3-10, more than any other club.
- Jackson-Cartwright as captain. He's the squad's best proven scorer (39 a game last season, 50 so far this season), and the Breakers play twice in Round 3, so the captain's double is on two games. Velicka is vice-captain and also doubles.
- Four $69,000 bench players (Johnston, Adnam, Gold, Spurgin). They pay for three strong starters without spending on a $470k premium, and the bench only scores at half anyway.
- No Cotton or Davis. They're the two best players in the game, but together they take nearly half the cap, and Davis plays only once in Round 3.
- Fits the rules exactly: 4 guards, 4 forwards and 2 centres, a legal 2-2-1 starting five, $1,999,900 of the $2m cap, and nobody on the injury list.
