Australia booked its place in the quarter-finals of the FIBA Women's 3x3 World Cup with a dominant 21-11 Play-In victory against China in Ulaanbaatar overnight.
Next up is Ukraine in the Quarter-Finals.
The Gangurrus produced their most complete performance of the tournament, shooting efficiently, controlling possession and defending relentlessly to eliminate China and extend their World Cup campaign.
Amy Atwell led Australia with a game-high nine points while Marena Whittle added six points and Hannah Hank contributed four points and five rebounds.
Australia never allowed China to establish any offensive rhythm, forcing nine turnovers while committing just two of its own.
Atwell was clinical throughout, shooting 6-from-9 overall and converting 2-from-5 from beyond the arc. She also knocked down her only free-throw attempt as Australia raced to the 21-point target.
Whittle provided her trademark two-way impact with six points, two rebounds and a blocked shot, while Hank was perfect from the free-throw line, converting all three attempts.
Australia finished with a shooting efficiency of 0.68 compared with China's 0.55 and held its opponent to just 1-from-7 from two-point range.
China's only consistent offensive threat was Lili Wang, who scored six points, but Australia shut down the remainder of the Chinese lineup, limiting the other three players to just five combined points.

The victory improves Australia's tournament record to 3-2 and sends the Gangurrus into the quarter-finals, where they will face one of the tournament's top seeds as they continue their pursuit of a medal in Ulaanbaatar.
Day two Pool Games
Australia secured a place in the FIBA Women's 3x3 World Cup Play-In round against China after splitting its final two Pool B games.
The Gangurrus fell 20-18 to Spain before responding with a 21-18 victory over Hungary to finish pool play with a 2-2 record.

Australia came within two points of a direct quarter-final berth but could not contain Spain's outside shooting.
Marena Whittle led Australia with nine points and seven rebounds, shooting 3-from-7 from beyond the arc. Amy Atwell added seven points while Hannah Hank and Emma Clarke combined for nine rebounds.
Spain's scoring was carried almost exclusively by Txell Alarcón and Alba Prieto, who each scored nine points and combined for six made two-pointers.

Facing a must-win game to stay alive, Australia delivered its most efficient offensive performance of the tournament.
Amy Atwell scored eight points, Hannah Hank finished with six points and seven rebounds, while Marena Whittle added six points on perfect 2-from-3 shooting from outside.
Australia shot an outstanding 15-from-25 overall and 4-from-10 from two-point range.

Australia opened its FIBA Women's 3x3 World Cup campaign in Pool B with a split result, defeating host nation Mongolia before falling narrowly to the United States.

Australia controlled the glass and generated enough inside scoring to overcome a hot-shooting Mongolian outfit.
Hannah Hank led the way with nine points and six rebounds, scoring seven of Australia's 11 one-point field goals. Amy Atwell added seven points, including three two-pointers, while Emma Clarke produced a strong all-round game with four points and a game-high nine rebounds.
