Australia’s rising and established NCAAW stars are delivering big early-season performances. From Charlise Dunn’s 33-point explosion to standout freshmen and transfers, here are the Australian women making the biggest impact this week in US college basketball.

1. Charlise Dunn (Davidson) – SENIOR
- Best Performance – 33 points, 11 rebounds, three steals in 44 minutes v Baylor
Charlise Dunn has taken her game to the next level this season and that all came to the fore when she almost led Davidson to an upset over #7 Baylor. Dunn was unstoppable and forced the game into overtime with a monster triple in the final seconds of regulation, finishing with a career-high 33 as the Wildcats fell agonisingly short, 74–72.

2. Antoniette Emma-Nnopu (Weber State) – SENIOR
- Best Performance – 22 points, 12 rebounds, eight assists and four blocks in 32 minutes v Utah Tech
Antoniette Emma-Nnopu’s presence in the paint is undeniable. She’s averaging a double-double and career-highs across the board, beasting on both ends. Emma-Nnopu battles all game on the boards and her offensive versatility has been on full display, averaging 3.8 assists per game, up from one last season.

3. Bonnie Deas (Arkansas) – FRESHMAN

Bonnie Deas is the freshman guard taking college basketball by storm. Her relentless work ethic has already earned her fans in Fayetteville, and whether she’s pressuring full-court, rebounding among trees or knocking down triples, she just gets the job done.

4. Mia Jacobs (Oregon) – SENIOR

Unbeaten Oregon is 6–0 and transfer Mia Jacobs has been at the centre of their surge. Over her past two games she’s shot 61.5% (8/13) from deep and has slotted seamlessly into the Ducks’ rotation.

Building on an impressive freshman year at Butler, Lily Carmody just keeps climbing. Now at Boston College, she’s having a major impact in the ACC and leading the Eagles in scoring at 14.9 points per game.

Stanford is bullying opponents at 7–0, and freshman Lara Somfai is already a steady contributor. Her presence, rebounding and floor spacing continue to impress.

After bursting onto the scene last season, Amelia Hassett is stretching the floor (2.7 threes per game) and protecting the rim (2 blocks per game) with real purpose in her second year at Kentucky.

Ford has only played four games, which is the only reason she isn’t higher. Since returning, she’s recorded double-doubles in three of those four outings. If she maintains this form, expect her to climb quickly.

9. Lulu Twidale (California) – JUNIOR

Lulu Twidale has struggled from deep, shooting 23.7% (9/38), but she’s finding other ways to impact games and is averaging a career-high 14.2 points. Her increased aggression getting to the line (4.8 FTA per game) has been crucial to Cal’s 5–1 start.

In her senior year, Dani Bayes has stepped into a bigger role and delivered. She has started all six games and pumped her scoring from 9.1 to 14.5 points per game. Her explosion against UC Davis – hitting 7/9 from deep – was one of the performances of the season.

Other Top Performers
Hannah Wickstrom (UC Riverside) – SOPHOMORE
- Best Performance – 15 points, 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists in 33 minutes v Boise State
After a delayed start to the season, Wickstrom has played just two games but impressed in both. Averaging 14 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, she looks set for a major role for UC Riverside.
Rubi Gray (Sacramento State) – SOPHOMORE
- Best Performance – 26 points (four triples), three rebounds and two steals in 36 minutes v Cal State Fullerton
Rubi Gray didn’t score in double figures once as a freshman, but has already hit that mark four times this season. She posted a career-high 24 points v UC San Diego and topped it a week later with 26 against Cal State Fullerton. The sharpshooter has found her groove.
