All WNBL First Teamer Perth Lynx forward Laeticia Amihere has signed with the Golden State Valkyries for the rest of the 2025 WNBA season.
The 23-year-old Canadian was waived by the Atlanta Dream on February 1, 2025, signed by the Valkyries on February 6 but waived during training camp on May 14.
She joins Australian Opals wing Steph Talbot at the expansion franchise based in San Francisco, California.
Golden State forward Cecilia Zandalasini has left the team to compete for Italy in Europe.
Amihere established herself as one of the WNBL's premier talents during the 2024-25 season, delivering consistent performances for the Perth Lynx.
After making history as the first Canadian female to dunk in a game at just 15 years old, Amihere has continued to develop her skills on the international stage.
Her collegiate career at South Carolina set the foundation for her professional success, culminating in the 2021-22 NCAA championship. Selected eighth overall by the Atlanta Dream in the 2023 WNBA draft, Amihere played two seasons in Atlanta before being waived in February 2025 and claimed by the Golden State Valkyries.

The Perth Lynx secured Amihere's services in September 2024, a decision that paid immediate dividends for the Western Australian club. The 190cm forward showcased her all-around ability, averaging 15.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 52.5 percent from the field.
Her defensive prowess was equally impressive, with Amihere recording 37 blocks and 40 steals throughout the season. This two-way dominance made her one of the league's most impactful players.
Amihere's standout performance came in a thrilling 92-90 victory over Canberra on November 14, 2024, where she posted 24 points, 10 rebounds, and three blocks while shooting an outstanding 10-from-11 from the field.
Her scoring ability remained consistent throughout the campaign, with eight games of 20+ points, including a season-high 28 points against Sydney on November 23, 2024. During that contest, she shot 11-from-18 from the field while adding seven rebounds and four assists.

Beyond her scoring touch, Amihere's defensive impact helped anchor Perth's interior defense. Her five blocks against Southside on December 1, 2024, highlighted her rim protection capabilities, while her 13 rebounds against Geelong United on January 12 demonstrated her glass-cleaning skills.
The Canadian international's development in Australia followed a pattern established by many WNBA players who have used the WNBL to refine their games during the American offseason.
Amihere's WNBL success has translated to increased opportunities in the WNBA. After limited minutes during her first two seasons with Atlanta, has earned a fresh start with the Golden State Valkyries for the remainder of the 2025 campaign.
With her blend of interior scoring, rebounding and rim protection, Amihere established herself as one of the most complete frontcourt players in the WNBL. Her ability to impact games on both ends of the floor made her a matchup nightmare for opponents throughout the season.
