A double-double from Dyson Daniels wasn't enough for the Atlanta Hawks as they fell in another thriller to the New York Knicks with a last-minute heave from CJ McCollum, which would have tied the game, cancelled by the officials.

Daniels continued his impressive late-season form with 11 points, going 4-from-11 from the field and 1-from-3 from the three-point line, along with 12 rebounds, three assists and two steals but the Hawks lost 108-105 in a clash of Eastern Conference heavyweights at State Farm Arena.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the way for the Hawks with 36 points while Jalen Johnson had 21 and Daniels was one of five Atlanta players in double figures.

Unfortunately for them, they couldn't overcome 30 points and 13 assists from Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson, who has developed a habit of torching the Hawks, and he was supported by OG Anunoby (22 points) and Karl-Anthony Towns (21 points, 12 rebounds and six assists).

The clash between the Hawks and Knicks could be a first-round Eastern Conferece playoffs preview with Atlanta currently holding fifth spot and New York only one win in front of the fourth-placed Cleveland Cavaliers.

NBA BOX SCORE: Atlanta Hawks vs New York Knicks

Aussie Dyson Daniels played 38 minutes and almost helped spark the Atlanta Hawks to a critical win over the New York Knicks but it wasn't to be as the visitors took a 108-105 victory.

The Hawks still have a stranglehold on fifth spot though, sitting 1.5 games ahead of the Toronto Raptors with only three games remaining in the regular season.

NBA BOX SCORE: Memphis Grizzlies vs Cleveland Cavaliers

Aussie rookie Tyrese Proctor was back to his early-season form, scoring 10 points in 20 minutes off the bench as the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Memphis Grizzlies 142-126 at the FedEx Forum.

Proctor made the most of his opportunities, shooting 2-from-8 from the field and 1-from-4 from the three-point line but went 5-from-6 from the free-throw line to reach double figures.

He also had three steals, two rebounds and one assist.

NBA BOX SCORE: Denver Nuggets vs Portland Trail Blazers

Former Australian Boomer Matisse Thybulle continued his late-season resurgence, starring for the Portland Trail Blazers as they almost scored an upset, taking the Denver Nuggets to overtime before losing 137-132 at Ball Arena.

Thybulle had 14 points, going 5-from-7 from the field and 4-from-6 from beyond the arc, in 33 minutes off the bench.

He also had five steals and three assists.
