Australian point guard Dyson Daniels poured in an equal career high 28 points as the Atlanta Hawks got straight back to winning ways, blowing out the Golden State Warriors by 16 points on March 22, 2026 (AEDT).
Daniels, 22, tied the mark he set in November 2024. He went 12-for-17 including 2-for-5 from deep to go with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in a near-complete two-way performance for the surging East Conference playoffs contender.
The Hawks are 13-2 in their last 15, rode a 10-game winning streak before it was snapped by Kevin Durant's Houston Rockets but they responded immediately today.
"Last night I felt like we didn’t play the way we want to play," Daniels said.
"They came out, they were more physical than us and yeah we got beat in all areas of the game.
"So we wanted to come out, be the aggressor tonight, be more physical, run harder.
"It’s obviously tough on the back-to-back but I think that third quarter where we came out and really put the game away was how we’ve been playing on that win streak.
"Part of me is I do a little bit of everything and I try to push the pace. Obviously defence is where I’ve earned my spot in this league so that’s always going to be my No. 1. Then being able to push the pace, get feet in the paint, find my teammates.
"I was able to knock down a few shots tonight so just trying to do a little bit of everything to help us win. This is one of the ones we needed and it’s a crucial time for us. We need wins so I’m glad we got this one."
