WNBA Scores: Washington Mystics 100 def. Las Vegas Aces 99 (Final)

Australian guard Georgia Amoore and the Washington Mystics pulled off the upset of the night, rallying from nine points down in the final four minutes to stun A'ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces 100-99 in Washington on Thursday (AEST).

Shakira Austin was the hero, scoring 25 points and converting a three-point play after an offensive rebound with 12.8 seconds left for the winning margin. The door opened when Wilson, otherwise unstoppable, missed a free throw with 17 seconds to play.

Amoore played her part in the comeback, starting and scoring 10 points on 4-from-6 shooting with two three-pointers, a rebound, an assist and a block in 23 minutes for the league's lowest-scoring team. Sonia Citron added 20 points and eight assists, Kiki Iriafen posted 12 points and 10 rebounds, and rookie Lauren Betts scored 13 off the bench.

Wilson was enormous in defeat, finishing with 38 points on 12-from-16 shooting and 12-from-13 at the line, with Jackie Young adding 24 points and Chelsea Gray 19. But the Aces were out-rebounded 34-24 and go into the All-Star break two games behind league-leading Minnesota.

Fellow Australian Steph Talbot started for Las Vegas but was limited to nine minutes, finishing with two points on 1-from-1 shooting.

WNBA Scores: New York Liberty 95 def. Chicago Sky 94 (Final)

Rebecca Allen and the New York Liberty pulled off a stunning escape, erasing a 12-point deficit in the final five minutes to beat the Chicago Sky 95-94 at Barclays Center on Thursday (AEST).

Sabrina Ionescu was the architect, scoring nine of her 29 points in the last minute. Trailing 91-85 inside the final minute, she hit a contested three from the corner while falling out of bounds, drilled another, then converted a three-point play with 15.1 seconds left to tie the game at 94. Jonquel Jones made the tiebreaking free throw with 3.4 seconds remaining to win it.

Allen started and contributed 12 points on 5-from-12 shooting, knocking down two of six from three and grabbing four rebounds in 29 minutes. Breanna Stewart added 20 points and nine rebounds and Jones a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double. Sydney Taylor top-scored with a career-high 31 for Chicago in the loss.

Fellow Australian Anneli Maley, a New York development player, did not dress.

WNBA Scores: Minnesota Lynx 86 def. Seattle Storm 76 (Final)

Jade Melbourne and the Seattle Storm fell 86-76 to the league-leading Minnesota Lynx in Seattle on Thursday (AEST).

Melbourne started and ran the offence, finishing with four points, four assists, two rebounds and a steal in 28 minutes, though her shooting touch deserted her at 2-from-6 and 0-from-4 from deep. Dominique Malonga led the Storm with 21 points and nine rebounds. Napheesa Collier was typically dominant for Minnesota with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Fellow Australian Ezi Magbegor remained sidelined with the facial fracture that has kept her out of the Storm lineup.

Seattle dropped to 6-23, while Minnesota improved to 22-6.

WNBA Scores: Phoenix Mercury 86 def. Los Angeles Sparks 82 (Final)

Sami Whitcomb came off the bench to help the Phoenix Mercury beat the Los Angeles Sparks 86-82 in Los Angeles on Thursday (AEST).

The Opals veteran scored eight points on 3-from-8 shooting, including two from three-point range, with three rebounds, an assist and a steal in 18 minutes as Phoenix pulled away in the fourth quarter. Kahleah Copper led the Mercury with 21 points and Alyssa Thomas posted 19 points and 15 assists. Dearica Hamby top-scored for the Sparks with 18.

WNBA Scores: Dallas Wings 101 def. Portland Fire 97 (Final)

The Dallas Wings held off the expansion Portland Fire 101-97 at the Moda Center on Thursday (AEST), though without their injured Australian.

Alanna Smith did not play, listed with a right-leg injury. Arike Ogunbowale led Dallas with 24 points and Paige Bueckers added 21 points and five assists.

Australian Nyadiew Puoch played 16 minutes off the bench for Portland, finishing scoreless, as the Fire fell just short.
