Kyle shatters NBL1 record with 70-point masterpiece
Game Replays
Kyle Adnam scored an NBL1-record 70 points as Sandringham crushed Northern Force 130-80.
- Anneli Maley: 65 points; 17 rebounds; 85% True Shooting
- Why Elijah Pepper didn't win MVP is 'perplexing'
- Defence wins rings: Mitch's Eltham Wildcats shutdown rivals
Kyle Adnam has produced the greatest individual scoring performance in NBL1 history, pouring in 70 points to lead the Sandringham Sabres to a NBL1 South 130-80 demolition of the Northern Force on Friday night (July 17, 2026).
The 32-year-old NBL championship point guard eclipsed Anneli Maley's all-time NBL1 scoring record of 65 points while also shattering the men's mark of 59 points, held by Elijah Pepper last season in the NBL1 West.
Adnam's remarkable performance came in just 35 minutes, finishing with 70 points, nine assists and three rebounds while shooting 19-from-34 from the field, 13-from-22 from three-point range and 19-from-21 at the free-throw line.
He also posted an extraordinary 80.9% true shooting percentage, an elite level of efficiency rarely seen from a player carrying such an enormous offensive load.
Adnam's 70 points were more than 10 TIMES his career NBL scoring average. He won an NBL championship with Melbourne United in 2018 and has spent much of his career orchestrating offences, averaging 6.9 points and 2.1 assists in 249 games.
The Sabres raced out to an 82-34 halftime lead, with Adnam doing much of the damage before the main break.
He exploded for 43 first-half points, connecting on 13-of-17 field goals, including 9-of-11 from beyond the arc, while knocking down 8-of-9 free throws. He also handed out six assists before halftime as Sandringham overwhelmed the Force.
By the end of the third quarter, Adnam had 59 points before opening the fourth with another three-pointer to move to 62. He eventually reached the historic 70-point milestone from the free-throw line with just over two minutes remaining before checking out.

His scoring display was built on a relentless blend of perimeter shooting, attacks to the basket and getting to the line.
Adnam finished with:
- 13 three-pointers (59.1%): Tied the late Ian Davies all-time NBL record for threes in an individual game.
- Six two-point field goals
- 19 made free throws
- 80.9% true shooting
- 75.0% effective field-goal percentage
The scoring outburst came within one of the most dominant team performances of the NBL1 South season.
Sandringham shot 59.2% from the field and recorded 31 assists on 45 made baskets while winning every quarter.
Kyle Bowen added 15 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while C.J. Asuncion-Byrd had seven points and five assists. Malith Machar also scored seven points without missing a shot.
Northern Force was led by captain Vincent DeAngelo, who finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds, while Kye Savage scored 17 points.
But the night belonged entirely to Adnam.
Already one of Australia's most decorated guards through a lengthy NBL career, he delivered a performance for the ages, breaking both the overall NBL1 scoring record and the men's record in the same game.
By night's end, the record book had been rewritten.
