Rosner rescues Berwick in stunning 18-point comeback

Game 2: Boys Division – Berwick College def. Tongtex Secondary High School 77-75
Boris Rosner scored 24 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and delivered the decisive plays as Berwick College overturned an 18-point deficit to defeat Tongtex Secondary High School 77-75 in a thrilling Boys Division clash at OCBC Arena Hall 1 on Thursday.
Rosner saved his best for last. After Berwick kept a crucial possession alive through multiple offensive rebounds, he knocked down the go-ahead jumper with 29 seconds remaining to put his side ahead 76-75 before calmly splitting a pair of free throws with nine seconds left to seal the two-point victory.
Berwick trailed for more than 36 minutes and entered the fourth quarter down 62-53, but produced a remarkable 24-13 final period to complete one of the biggest comebacks of the Royal International School tournament.
Rosner received outstanding support from Zacharie Morrell, who finished with 20 points and eight rebounds. Morrell ignited the rally with an and-one play early in the fourth quarter before scoring the basket that tied the game at 63-63 and later giving Berwick a 74-73 lead with under two minutes remaining.
Parker Rivet was equally influential with 17 points and 12 rebounds, including four offensive boards, before securing the game-winning defensive rebound after Po-Chun Chi Wu missed two potential game-tying three-pointers in the closing seconds. Oliver Van Den Brink added six points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Tongtex looked in complete control for much of the afternoon, opening a 23-14 quarter-time lead before extending the margin to 46-35 at halftime. The lead reached 18 points during the contest before Berwick's relentless pressure slowly wore down its opponent.
En-Hsiang Hsu led Tongtex with 22 points and six three-pointers, while Yi Chuan contributed 16 points and four assists. Langelihle Lerato recorded a dominant double-double with 15 points and a game-high 19 rebounds, while De-Sheng Neng added eight points and 10 rebounds.
Despite shooting just 36.5% from the field and 48% from the free-throw line, Berwick dominated the glass 64-49, including an extraordinary 31 offensive rebounds. Those second-chance opportunities helped create 24 more field-goal attempts than Tongtex, while Berwick also forced 18 turnovers to complete a memorable comeback.
Tongtex led for 36 minutes and 17 seconds, while Berwick spent just two minutes and nine seconds in front. Those final moments, however, were enough for Rosner and Berwick to produce a dramatic 77-75 victory.
Game 2: Girls Division – Rowville Secondary College def. University of Santo Tomas 81-78
Tiedore Puoch delivered a dominant 33-point, 19-rebound performance as Rowville Secondary College held off the University of Santo Tomas 81-78 in a thrilling Girls Division clash at the NBA Rising Stars Invitational at OCBC Arena Hall 1 on Thursday.
Puoch, the younger sister of Portland Fire's Nyadiew and Liberty draftee Manuela, controlled the contest from start to finish, shooting 11-from-21 from the field and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line while adding six steals as Rowville secured its second tournament victory.
She received outstanding support from Vanessa Tavete, who knocked down four three-pointers on her way to 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Makayla Craven contributed 10 points and six assists. Bridgette Kata also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds as Rowville placed four players in double figures.
Rowville led for more than 34 minutes of the contest and built an 11-point advantage before Santo Tomas mounted a late comeback.
The Australian school opened a 23-19 lead after the first quarter and took a 41-35 advantage into halftime before producing its best defensive stretch after the break. Rowville limited Santo Tomas to just nine points in the third quarter to carry a 58-54 lead into the final period.
Santo Tomas responded with 24 points in the fourth quarter to make it a one-possession game in the closing stages, but Rowville held its nerve to secure the three-point victory.
The difference came on the glass, where Rowville dominated 64-55, including 19 offensive rebounds that created crucial second-chance opportunities. The Australians also converted 18-of-26 free throws, while Santo Tomas managed just 12-of-30 from the foul line.
Lea Pinuela and Sofia Alexis Petalcorin each scored 16 points to lead Santo Tomas, while Noelle Paulheene Arciaga added nine points in fewer than 11 minutes. Lhian Artim Arabi pulled down 13 rebounds and Rhiane Meshelle Perez finished with 12 rebounds and five steals.
Despite forcing 31 Rowville turnovers and collecting 21 steals, Santo Tomas could not overcome Rowville's rebounding dominance or Puoch's outstanding all-round display as the Victorians closed out an entertaining 81-78 win.
Game 1: Girls Division – Rowville Secondary College 73 def Royal International School 48
Rowville Secondary College pulled away after halftime to defeat Royal International School 73-48 in the Girls Division at the NBA Rising Stars International tournament at OCBC Arena Hall 3 on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
After leading by just two points at quarter-time and five at the main break, Rowville exploded in the third quarter, holding Royal International School to eight points before extending the margin to 25 by full-time.
Tesloch Puoch led the way with 17 points, seven rebounds and three assists in 31 minutes as Rowville improved its offensive efficiency after halftime.
Captain Vanessa Tavete added 13 points, five rebounds and three steals, while Tiedore Puoch finished with 11 points, six rebounds and two assists, knocking down two triples at 66.7% from beyond the arc.
Bridgette Kata contributed 10 points, six rebounds and four assists, while Jordy Phillips provided an important spark off the bench with nine points, hitting three-from-five from three-point range.
Rowville's dominance on the glass proved decisive. The Australian school collected 58 rebounds to 41, including 20 offensive boards that generated valuable second-chance opportunities.
Aorangi Harding was influential despite scoring only four points, pulling down nine rebounds, while the team combined for 14 assists and 13 steals.
Royal International School stayed within striking distance in the opening half behind captain Enkhzol Enkhbayar, who scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and recorded five steals.
Solongo Lkhagvasuren also scored 10 points, while Amingunj Munkhbayar added nine and Ujin Tengistamir finished with eight.
However, Royal struggled to score efficiently, shooting just 25.7% on two-point attempts and 22.6% from three-point range. The team also committed 21 turnovers, which Rowville converted into scoring opportunities.
The game featured five lead changes and was tightly contested early before Rowville seized control with a 20-8 third quarter.
Rowville shot 42.3% from the field and 40% from three-point range, compared to Royal International School's 28.8% overall shooting.
The victory was built on rebounding, defensive pressure and balanced scoring as five Rowville players scored at least seven points in the convincing 25-point win.
Game 1: Boys Division – Berwick College 91 def Bukit Jalil Sports School 35
Berwick College delivered one of the most dominant performances of the NBA Rising Stars International tournament, crushing Bukit Jalil Sports School 91-35 in the Boys Division at OCBC Arena Hall 3 on Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
The Victorian school set the tone immediately, racing to a 21-5 first-quarter lead before extending the margin to 53-22 by halftime. Berwick never looked back, leading for 39 minutes and 41 seconds and finishing with a tournament-high 56-point victory.
Berwick's balanced attack saw all 10 players score, with no player exceeding 13 points.
Zacharie Morrell led the scoring with 13 points and four rebounds, while Boris Rosner added 11 points and Jake Shaw finished with 10 points on a perfect five-from-five shooting performance.
Parker Rivet also scored 10 points and added four steals, while Aiden Turkkan contributed 10 points, four assists and two steals off the bench.
Oliver Van Den Brink chipped in with 11 points, while Stevan Tasic recorded eight points and a game-high 10 rebounds in an all-round performance.
Berwick dominated nearly every statistical category. They shot 60.4% on two-point attempts, outrebounded Bukit Jalil 46-17 and forced 28 turnovers through relentless defensive pressure.
The Australian side also shared the ball effectively, finishing with 18 assists and 17 steals while producing an 18-0 scoring run during the contest.
Bukit Jalil struggled to generate offence against Berwick's defence. Kuan Yit Lim was the lone bright spot, scoring 10 points while adding three steals despite committing 10 turnovers under constant pressure.
Fatt Kam Sing scored nine points on four-from-five shooting, while Yu Zhe Teh added six points, knocking down both of his three-point attempts.
Captain Isaac Xian Yang Au was held to just two points and the Malaysian school finished with only five assists as a team.
After trailing 53-22 at halftime, Bukit Jalil managed just 13 second-half points as Berwick continued to build the margin. The final quarter summed up the contest, with Berwick holding their opponents to just two points.
The victory showcased Berwick's depth, discipline and defensive intensity, with every player contributing in a comprehensive performance that established them as one of the tournament's early contenders.
