NBL West Conference Round 3 — May, 15-18, 2025:
- Johny Narkle exploded for 25 points as Geraldton crushed Perry Lakes 96-68
- Mandurah secured a nail-biting 88-86 win against East Perth behind Ealy's 20 points
- Elijah Pepper's 29-point masterclass powered Warwick to a dominant 101-69 victory over Perth
Geraldton @ Perry Lakes
Geraldton crushed Perry Lakes 96-68 at Active West Stadium in a commanding performance. Johny Narkle led the way with an exceptional 25 points, including three triples, while adding eight rebounds and five steals.
Aaron Ralph provided a spark off the bench with 20 points, connecting on six-from-nine from beyond the arc during his brief 13-minute appearance.
The Buccaneers dominated from the perimeter, shooting 38.7 percent on three-pointers compared to Perry Lakes' dismal 25 percent effort. Geraldton's balanced attack featured four players scoring in double figures and 34 bench points.
Nicholas Floyd was the top performer for the Hawks with 15 points on 63.6 percent shooting, but Perry Lakes struggled to generate consistent offense throughout the contest, trailing by as many as 31 points.
East Perth @ Mandurah
Mandurah edged East Perth 88-86 in a thrilling contest at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre. Jahcoree Ealy delivered a stellar performance with 20 points and six assists, while Julian Pesava recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 assists, orchestrating the Magic's offense. Sammie Freeman added another double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite East Perth's significant rebounding advantage (54-40) and two impressive double-doubles from Lee Roberts (20 points, 15 rebounds) and Jonah Antonio (13 points, 12 rebounds), the Eagles couldn't overcome their turnover problems. Mandurah dominated in transition, outscoring East Perth 32-5 in fastbreak points and converting the Eagles' 20 turnovers into 15 points. Ioannis Dimakopoulos led all East Perth scorers with 21 points on efficient 64.3 percent shooting.
Perth @ Warwick
Warwick dismantled Perth 101-69 at Belmont Oasis Leisure Centre behind Elijah Pepper's explosive 29-point performance. Pepper shot 6-from-14 from three-point range while Mitch Clarke added 20 points, nine assists, and four steals in a dominant team effort that saw Warwick lead by as many as 37 points.
The Senators caught fire from beyond the arc, connecting on 17 triples at an impressive 42.5 percent clip, while Perth struggled miserably at 14.7 percent from distance. Despite double-doubles from Jonah Underwood (13 points, 10 rebounds) and Emmanuel Kanwei (8 points, 10 rebounds), Perth never threatened after Warwick built a substantial lead.
The Senators turned Perth's 15 turnovers into 13 points and dominated the transition game with 23 fast-break points.
Goldfields @ Willetton
Goldfields defeated Willetton 81-70 at Willetton Basketball Stadium through a balanced scoring attack led by Shaun Stewart and De'Sean Parsons with 22 points each. Parsons completed a double-double with 14 rebounds while Joshua Duach added 19 points and eight boards.
The Giants' defence forced 19 turnovers and held Willetton to a poor 13.2 percent shooting from three-point range. Tigers forward Taeshon Cherry produced a magnificent individual effort with 32 points on 50 percent shooting, but received minimal support as no other Willetton player scored more than seven points.
Despite outscoring Goldfields 17-12 in points off turnovers, the Tigers couldn't overcome their poor perimeter shooting and rebounding disadvantage.
Eastern Suns @ SW Slammers
Eastern Suns dominated SW Slammers 106-81 at Ray Owen Sports Centre behind Marshall Nelson's 24-point performance.
The Suns showcased exceptional ball movement with 31 assists, including six each from Nelson and Joel Vaiangina, who added 12 points and eight rebounds to his stellar all-around game.
Despite Jamal Poplar's impressive double-double (26 points, 14 rebounds) for the Slammers, the Eastern Suns controlled the game with their efficient shooting (53.3 percent from the field and 44 percent from three). Six Suns players scored in double figures, including Travis Fee (16 points) and Marley Sam (14 points, four steals). The Slammers struggled with ball security, committing 19 turnovers which the Suns converted into 15 points on their way to building a commanding 28-point lead.
