"Swiss Army Knife" Jaylin Williams ($277,000) did everything head coach Will Weaver described the American import as after the Brisbane Bullets survived a 27-point comeback to beat the Perth Wildcats 109-104 in Round 8 of NBL27 at Nissan Arena on Wednesday, November 4, 2026.
The 26-year-old 2.03m forward had 13 points, four rebounds, five assists, a steal and a monster block on Wildcats guard Elijah Pepper ($202,700).
"He's the least selfish dude I've ever been around," Weaver said.
"There's not a selfish bone in Jaylin Williams' body, which is why we recruited him so hard and why his point of difference is the versatility: his ability to guard guards and block shots and sky for rebounds and make shots if they sag off him and attack and get to the rim if they don't.
"We use him as a passer. He's a Swiss Army knife for us.
"And you know, as you're adjusting to a new league and a new team and a new coach and everybody else is adjusting to each other, and everything's new, it's not easy when you're that versatile because it's like I could be doing 700 things and I'm capable of 698 of them, right?
"So really the journey for us has been to try to identify, 'Hey, look, against this opponent, these are the things within your arsenal. We're going to need your sand wedge. We're going to need your seven iron. And we're going to need that driver', you know, and keep making sure that we're staying on that opponent, opponent by opponent.
"And that's, that's the association. That's EuroLeague. That's every great league around the world has different requirements, game in, game out.
"But you know, the Will Weavers' just get to do their one little thing. The Jaylin Williams' got three or four or five things to bring to the table."
Williams was one of seven Bullets to get into double figures: Tyrell Harrison ($336,100), 16; Taine Murray ($99,700), 14; Lat Mayen ($69,000), 14; Nate Hinton ($277,000), 13; Mitch Norton ($160,600), 13; and Raul Neto ($277,000), 10.
The only blemish was Neto leaving the game in the first half and not playing the second with what Weaver described as "Just precaution."
"(He) felt a little bit of tightness and we don't mess around with putting our players at risk regardless of what the score is.
"And so, yeah, precautionary for sure. He just talked to him. He feels fine."
The Bullets led by 27 with 6:21 to go in the third quarter but, in just over 10 minutes of game time, cut the lead to just two at 89-87 on a three from Kristian Doolittle ($317,500). Enter Taine Murray, who scored eight straight for the Bullets in 1:30 on back-to-back threes and a layup. Lat Mayern hit a dagger three with 1:04 left to stretch the lead to 106-98.
"The game is 40 minutes, so you know, you got to keep your foot down no matter what," Williams said.
"They're great basketball players. They got a good team.
"They want to play at their own pace and do the things. They executed pretty well in the second half.
"But you know, we stayed together, you know, every timeout Will called, we was there talking to each other, you know, fixing the things that we needed to do to just finish out the win."
The Bullets jumped on the Wildcats early, blew out the first quarter 37-22, and led by 20 at halftime, 63-43. The Wildcats were without import guard Brandon Knight who was listed "soreness".
"It's tough because obviously the way we fought back in the second half is a good sign and the way we went about things, but we can't be having that start at the beginning of games," Pepper said.
"Our goal is to win championships, and I don't think a team that wants to win a championship can start a game down, what, 20 at halftime?
"It's just the way we go about things before the game, that first quarter. We've just got to be better, more intensity.
"I don't know what the rebounding was. That was an issue the last couple of games, but that's got to be better as well."
