Sabres edge clear as Steph Reid drops 30 and 10
Stephanie Reid starred with 30 points and 10 assists as Sandringham crushed Ringwood.

Round 7 in the NBL1 South women’s competition tightened the race behind Sandringham, with the Sabres continuing to separate from the field while Eltham, Casey and Diamond Valley strengthened their top-four credentials.
StephReid exploded in a statement win for the ladder leaders, Lil Dart carried Eltham through a high-scoring battle with Mt Gambier, and Casey’s offence overwhelmed Bendigo in one of the weekend’s biggest margins. Further down the ladder, Northern Force continued its late-season surge while Knox and Keilor stayed firmly inside the finals mix.
Sandringham Sabres 104 def. Ringwood Hawks 72
Sandringham’s offence overwhelmed Ringwood from the opening quarter and never slowed down, with the Sabres improving to 9-1 while reinforcing their position atop the NBL1 South standings.
The Sabres scored 28 points in the opening period, pushed the margin into double digits before halftime and then broke the game open with a 29-9 third quarter. Sandringham shot 53.3% from the field, hit 16 threes and piled up 26 assists in one of its cleanest offensive performances of the season.
Stephanie Reid controlled the game throughout with 30 points, 10 assists and four made threes on 12-of-19 shooting, while Madison Ryan added 19 points and Maddie Angus drilled four triples for 18 points off the bench. Lucy Cochrane anchored the interior with 12 rebounds and three blocks.
Ringwood stayed competitive offensively early behind Jo Raflo and Honey Kaur, but the Hawks struggled to contain Sandringham’s spacing and transition attack once the game opened up after halftime.

Eltham Wildcats 97 def. Mt Gambier Pioneers 90
Lil Dart delivered one of the performances of the round as Eltham survived a high-scoring battle with Mt Gambier to improve to 9-2 and remain inside the top-two race.
The Wildcats controlled much of the first half before Mt Gambier repeatedly cut the margin back behind Carla Pitman and Ti’Ian Boler. Eltham answered each run with perimeter shooting and transition scoring, finishing with 25 assists and 97 points on 48% shooting.
Dart finished with 31 points, eight assists and five made threes despite attempting 27 shots, while Sarah Elsworthy added 10 points and nine assists in a composed playmaking display. Rebecca Pizzey scored 19 points on 9-of-12 shooting and Mackenzie Smith added 18 points with three triples.
Mt Gambier stayed within striking distance through Pitman’s all-around production and Boler’s aggressive scoring, but Eltham’s ball movement and offensive rebounding created enough separation late.
