Tasmania is the “Big Apple Isle” of SuperCoach NBL Classic in NBL27.

More than 16,000 coaches have registered for SuperCoach NBL this season, and Tasmanians have signed up at more than four times the rate of their rivals in New South Wales. That’s got to give Sydneysiders the Blues.

Tasmania has 921 registered coaches, or 159 for every 100,000 residents. NSW has 3,128, or 36 per 100,000.

The Tasmania JackJumpers – and buzz around the Tasmania Jewels – are driving SuperCoach fever, with 1,231 coaches naming the JackJumpers as their club, 310 more than the number registered in Tasmania.

Victoria has the most SuperCoach NBL coaches

Victoria has the most coaches by volume, with 5,139, or 31.15 per cent of all registrations. New South Wales (3,128) and Queensland (2,042) follow.

South Australia is second per head of population, with 94 coaches per 100,000 people, ahead of Victoria on 72. Queensland is last of the six states on 35.6 per 100,000, just behind New South Wales (36.1), despite having two NBL clubs.

Another 1,603 coaches, or 9.72 per cent, are listed as "Other".

Melbourne United is the most supported club

Melbourne United is the most supported club in SuperCoach NBL by a distance. 3,406 coaches named United as their team, 21.5 per cent of those who picked a club.

The Adelaide 36ers are second with 2,301 and the NBL26 champion Sydney Kings third with 2,021. The 36ers' number is bigger than South Australia's entire registration count of 1,805.

The New Zealand Breakers (642) and Cairns Taipans (674) have the fewest.

Sydney Kings coaches love a league

The Kings rank third for supporters but first for club league entries. 128 coaches have joined the Sydney Kings league, 48 more than the next biggest club league, Perth's 80.
