SuperCoach NBL: Who to Buy, Hold, Sell & Captain in Round 7
Jaylin Galloway is a buy after his Cairns debut, and four Hawks are sells with one Round 7 game.
- All 165 games of the NBL27 season in one list
- Every NBL27 roster, squad list and projected depth chart
- Every injured NBL player, with expected return dates
- Hammertime: Who is leading NBL27 in dunks
Sell, don't hold and definitely do not – sadly – buy Kelan Martin ($277,000), William Hickey ($331,600), Sam Froling ($228,200) or Milton Doyle ($274,700) in Round 7 of SuperCoach NBL this week.
To be fair, Illawarra is one of only two clubs that don't play twice, but the 2-8 Hawks are going backwards, and their stars' production is, too. The NBL25 champs are on the road to the 5-2 Wildcats on Saturday night.
Hickey, who played just two minutes in the Hawks' lifeless 98-81 loss to the Bullets in Round 6, has dropped more than $100K from his starting price. Martin is -$68K, Doyle is -$31K, but Froling has gained $10.6K.
More positively, more than 1,650 SuperCoaches have seen enough to make a move on Cairns Taipans wing Jaylin Galloway ($196,400). The Australian Boomer, NBL26 Sydney Kings champion and FIBA Asia Cup MVP, played his first game for Adam Forde's men after recovering from shoulder surgery against the Breakers on Sunday. He compiled 29 SuperCoach points, from 18 points, in 26:32 minutes.
His ownership is now more than 10%, so follow the crowd – he's a buy.
Parker Jackson-Cartwright ($405,200) is back, leads the SuperCoach NBL in average points per game (51.3), and is now more expensive than six-time MVP Bryce Cotton ($473,900). The Breakers double in Rounds 7, 9 and 10, but it will take some surgery to get him back into your line-up if you hit the trade button when he went out injured. He's an absolute Buy, Hold and Captain if you can make it work.
- Parker Jackson-Cartwright ($405,200) is back. He missed Rounds 4 and 5, scored 49, 60 and 41 in his last three games, and his 51.3 average is the best in the game. The Breakers host Adelaide on Friday and visit Melbourne on Monday. He scored 60 against the 36ers on October 4. New Zealand double again in Rounds 9, 10 and 13.
- Torrey Craig ($290,400) topped Round 6 with 88, from 40 and 48. Sydney play at Perth on Wednesday and at Tasmania on Friday, and he scored 38 against the Wildcats on October 17. The Kings double five times between Rounds 7 and 13.
- Andrew Carr ($277,000) rode the same double to 47 and 36, and scored 34 against Perth on October 17. Both Kings are differentials, and both are up more than $40,000 in the Round 6 update.
- Kristian Doolittle ($317,500) scored 54 in Perth's only Round 6 game. The Wildcats host Sydney on Wednesday and Illawarra on Saturday, then double again in Rounds 8 and 9. He scored 40 the last time he played the Hawks.
- Dylan Windler ($271,100) rides the same three Perth doubles, and he scored 39 against Sydney on October 17. He is the differential option at the Wildcats.
- Taran Armstrong ($304,700), 46 and 51 before a 29 in Round 6. Tasmania host Sydney on Friday and visit SE Melbourne on Sunday, and he scored 30 against the Phoenix in Round 1.
- Still rising: Carlin Davison ($121,600) has gained $153,300 since Round 1, including $45,300 in the Round 6 update, and the Breakers play twice. His head-to-heads are the weak spot: 7 against Adelaide on October 4.
- Value: Jonah Bolden ($133,600), 46, 24 and 20 in his last three games and up $130,100 since Round 1. Cairns play at Brisbane on Thursday and host Melbourne on Saturday, then double again in Round 8. He scored 34 against the Bullets on October 8.
- Kendric Davis ($436,000) scored 63 and 14 in Round 6. Do not let the 14 move you. Sydney play twice this week, and he scored 45 against Perth on October 17 and 52 against Tasmania in January. The Kings double five times to Round 13.
- Cole Anthony ($300,000), 26 and 61 in Round 6, 87 for the round. Melbourne play at Cairns on Saturday and host the Breakers on Monday. He scored 44 against the Taipans on October 3. Never sell.
- Bryce Cotton ($473,900) is rising again, up $21,900 in the Round 6 update after 52 and 53 in his last two games. Adelaide play at New Zealand on Friday and host Brisbane on Sunday. He scored 45 against the Bullets in January.
- Nick Rakocevic ($188,400) scored 65 against the Breakers on October 4, and Adelaide are in Auckland on Friday. He scored 46 in Round 6 and is up $168,900 since Round 1, the biggest rise in the game.
- Sam Mennenga ($303,100), 50, 46 and 32 in his last three games. The Breakers double, though he scored 23 against Adelaide on October 4.
- Will Magnay ($269,300) has a 40.4 average and a double: Sydney at home on Friday, SE Melbourne away on Sunday. He scored 34 against the Phoenix in Round 1.
- Nate Hinton ($277,000) and Max Mackinnon ($200,000): Brisbane double in Rounds 7, 8 and 9. Hinton scored 43 in his last game and 44 against Cairns on October 8. Mackinnon scored 31 against the Taipans in that game.
- Ben Gold ($69,000) is still rising, up $7,200 in the Round 6 update, and Tasmania play twice.
- Makur Maker ($99,800) plays once, at Perth on Saturday, then Illawarra double in Rounds 8, 9 and 10. He scored 40 and 17 in Round 6 and rose $36,100. Hold through the single.
- Illawarra play once, at Perth on Saturday, and four Hawks are falling. Kelan Martin ($277,000) scored 4 and 3 in Round 6 and lost $35,900. William Hickey ($331,600) scored 2 in his last game, lost $33,500 in the update, and is down $103,700 since Round 1.
- Sam Froling ($228,200), 13 and 16 in Round 6 and down $21,300 in the update. Milton Doyle ($274,700), 13 and 14 and down $20,700. Illawarra's three-round double starts in Round 8, so these are the Hawks to clear before it, not the ones to bring in for it.
- Skylar Mays ($277,000), 39, 18 and 14 in his last three games and down $10,900 in the update. SE Melbourne play once, at home to Tasmania on Sunday, and do not double until Round 9.
- Dejan Vasiljevic ($144,000) scored 3 and 8 in his last two games. The Breakers double, but he scored 2 against Melbourne last season and 23 against Adelaide on October 4.
- Injured and still owned: Matt Kenyon ($69,000) (back, return to be confirmed) and Arnas Velicka ($277,000) (lower limb, expected back in early December). Adelaide and Brisbane both play twice this round, and neither player will.
- Parker Jackson-Cartwright: 51.3 average, home to Adelaide on Friday and at Melbourne on Monday. He scored 60 against the 36ers on October 4, his best game of the season.
- Bryce Cotton: 41.9 average, and 52 and 53 in his last two games. At New Zealand on Friday and home to Brisbane on Sunday. He scored 45 against the Bullets last time.
- Kendric Davis: 40.8 average, at Perth on Wednesday and at Tasmania on Friday. He scored 45 and 52 the last time he played those two clubs.
- Will Magnay: 40.4 average, home to Sydney on Friday and at SE Melbourne on Sunday.
- Cole Anthony: 61 in his last game. At Cairns on Saturday and home to the Breakers on Monday. He scored 44 against the Taipans on October 3.
- Kristian Doolittle: 54 in his last game, and both of Perth's games are at home.
Round 7 tips off at 9:30pm (AEDT) on Wednesday, October 28, when Perth host Sydney at RAC Arena.
