Dyson Daniels has earned bragging rights over fellow Aussie Jock Landale after helping the Atlanta Hawks to a nail-biting win over the Memphis Grizzlies and snapping their four-game losing streak.
Daniels struggled offensively but still had a significant impact on the game, which was a fierce battle from the opening tip and culminated in a physical altercation between Grizzlies star point guard Ja Morant and Atlanta's Mouhamed Gueye with both receiving technical fouls.
It was a much-needed win for the Hawks, who despite showing positive signs without traded point guard Trae Young, had been without a victory since their January 12 win over the Golden State Warriors as they battle to maintain 10th spot and remain in the play-in picture in the Eastern Conference.
Jalen Johnson led the way for Atlanta with 33 points but the performance showed the Hawks still needed another addition to bolster their frontcourt with hype building that they will chase 10-time NBA All-Star Anthony Davis from the Dallas Mavericks before the trade deadline.
With the loss, Memphis drop to 11th in the Western Conference and, much like today's opponents, face a massive battle to remain in the playoff picture. But Landale was once again a bright spot for the Grizzlies, continuing to provide a boost for the side off the bench.

Josh Green was on double-double watch despite the Charlotte Hornets losing 94-87 in a defensive slugfest to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Green had seven points, going 2-from-3 from the field and 1-from-2 from distance, along with nine rebounds in 19 minutes off the bench. He also had two assists and one steal in the loss.
Tyrese Proctor was a DNP Coach's Decision for the Cavaliers.
NBA Scores: Indiana Pacers @ Boston Celtics
Another Aussie was also on double-double watch today as Johnny Furphy continued to show what he can do with more opportunity for the Indiana Pacers.
Furphy had 10 points, on 4-from-7 shooting from the field and 2-from-4 from the three-point line, in Indiana's 119-104 loss to the Boston Celtics.
The Melbourne product and former Kansas Jayhawk also had eight rebounds and two assists in his 23 minutes.
NBA Scores: Atlanta Hawks @ Memphis Grizzlies
Dyson Daniels had an off game offensively but still had a significant impact as the Atlanta Hawks recorded a 124-122 win over fellow Aussie Jock Landale and the Memphis Grizzlies.
Daniels only had three points, going 1-from-9 from the field, but still had eight assists and seven rebounds as Atlanta snapped a four-game losing streak.
Landale continues his career-best season following a 13-point and 11-rebound double-double in 28 minutes off the bench for the Grizzlies. Landale also dished out three assists.
