Report: Freeman-Liberty returns to Brisbane Bullets
Could this be the miracle story that turns the Bullets' season around?
- Javon freeman-Liberty has reportedly signed a deal to return to the Brisbane Bullets
- Freeman-Liberty and the Bullets mutually parted ways on October 7
- He replaces axed import Jaylen Adams
- Cadee's solution for the Brisbane Bullets
Import Javon Freeman-Liberty will return to the Brisbane Bullets less than two months since he parted ways with the NBL club, reports ESPN's Olgun Uluc.
The former Toronto Raptor and G League star arrived at the Bullets on the back of significant hype that he could be a league MVP contender but departed after playing just two games, where he averaged 16 points, 6.5 rebounds and five assists.
Freeman-Liberty and Brisbane agreed to a mutual release following the 26-year-old missing several games with a hamstring injury and due to his mental wellbeing but will now replace Jaylen Adams, who the Bullets axed last week, signing for the remainder of the season.
It is believed Freeman-Liberty reached out to Bullets management recently before contacting his former teammates, who approved a reunion with the talented guard.
His return comes at a time where the Bullets need a significant boost after two losses last round, including a 29-point embarrassing defeat at the hands of the New Zealand Breakers on the Gold Coast.
Freeman-Liberty was one of two reported signings for the Bullets after Uluc also reported former Sacramento Kings forward Terry Taylor will join the club as Casey Prather's replacement.
Brisbane sit eighth on the ladder with just five wins from 14 games and host the South East Melbourne Phoenix Thursday at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre.
The signings mean Lamar Patterson, who impressed in their nail-biting loss to Melbourne United, will return to being the team's Nominated Replacement PLayer.
