Australian centre Jock Landale was caught up in a fourth-quarter altercation that led to the ejections of Minnesota Timberwolves centre Naz Reid and Atlanta Hawks forward Mouhamed Gueye during Minnesota’s 138–116 win on Monday night.
The incident unfolded early in the fourth quarter when Gueye appeared to trip Reid. Reid immediately confronted Gueye, sparking a scuffle that drew players, coaches, and arena staff into the fray. As the pushing and shoving continued, Landale was knocked to the floor amid the chaos. Reid appeared to threaten a punch, though no punches were thrown.
After a lengthy video review, Gueye was assessed a foul and both he and Reid were ejected with double technical fouls.
Landale emerged from the altercation with visible scratches to his neck but was able to remain in the game.
NBA Scores: Minnesota Timberwolves 138, Atlanta Hawks 116 (Final)
Minnesota: 33–22 (18–10 home)
Atlanta: 26–29 (16–14 away)
Minnesota set the tone early and never relinquished control, pouring in 81 first-half points to establish a commanding lead on the way to a 22-point home win.
For Atlanta, Landale delivered one of the Hawks’ most complete performances, anchoring the frontcourt across extended minutes. Landale finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and five assists in 35 minutes, shooting 9-of-19 from the field and 4-of-9 from three as Atlanta looked to generate offence through inside-out actions. His activity on the glass and ability to stretch the floor kept the Hawks competitive through the middle stages.
CJ McCollum carried the primary scoring load with 38 points, but Atlanta struggled to slow Minnesota’s early rhythm, conceding 41 points in the first quarter and 40 in the second as the Timberwolves repeatedly broke down the defence in transition and early offense.
Minnesota was led by Anthony Edwards, who finished with 30 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Julius Randle orchestrated the game with an 18-point, 12-rebound, 10-assist triple-double. The Timberwolves shot 60 percent from the field and generated 36 assists, building separation through efficiency and ball movement before closing the game out comfortably.
Atlanta won the rebounding battle 47–41, with Landale a central figure, but Minnesota’s shot-making and pace proved decisive as the Timberwolves snapped a brief skid and reinforced their home-court strength.
