Josh Giddey joins Michael Jordan as the only Chicago Bulls to post back-to-back triple-doubles.

"That's cool."

That's the response Aussie point guard Josh Giddey gave after he found out he and Michael Jordan are the only Chicago Bulls players in history to record back-to-back triple-doubles.

Giddey, 23, had 29 points, 15 rebounds and 12 assists in Chicago's 113-111 comeback win against the Philadelphia 76ers on November 5 just two days after dropping 23 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists in what was his fourth triple-double at the famous Madison Square Garden against Knicks.

Giddey now has 20 career triple doubles. Jordan finished his career with 28.

"That's cool, I mean I'm not going to sit here and lie about it and say it's not cool," Giddey said after the come-from-behind 113-111 win against the Philadelphia 76ers.

"I think all the individual stuff comes as a byproduct of winning and being part of a very, very fun team to play with.

"I'm grateful that I've got teammates and coaches that allow me to be in positions to be successful.

"It's a very, very fun group to play with, I love these guys that I get to go out and compete with and they make my job very easy."

Jordan, then 26, had back-to-back road triple doubles in 24 hours on April 13 and 14, 1989. The first against Indiana in a 109-105 loss and against the New Jersey Nets a night later in a 123-111 loss.

Michael Jordan’s back-to-back triple-doubles:

  • April 14, 1989 vs Nets29 PTS, 10 REB, 12 AST (CHI lost 111–123)
