Rowville, Berwick punch tickets to Singapore tournie

Makayla Craven and Boris Rosner led Rowville SC and Berwick College to NBA Rising Stars Invitational Australia qualifying titles today, securing both schools a place at the RSI International tournament in Singapore later this year.
Craven poured in 30 points in Rowville’s 104–94 girls championship win over Barker College, while teammate Tiedore Puoch added 23 points as the Victorian school produced one of the tournament’s most explosive offensive displays.
In the boys final, Rosner delivered 27 points and 12 rebounds as Berwick College defeated Templestowe College 98–91 after a dominant third quarter turnaround. Berwick finished the weekend unbeaten and showcased the tournament’s deepest rotation with 55 bench points in the title game.

Keira Robinson exploded for 41 points as JSR Basketball defeated Flinders College 86–63 in Sunday morning action at SBC Court 1.
Robinson hit five threes and finished 15-from-33 from the field while consistently breaking down the defence in transition and isolation. The guard also added five steals as JSR forced 29 Flinders turnovers and converted them into 38 points.
Sasha Augustus contributed nine points, nine rebounds and eight assists, while Jasmine Giles controlled the paint with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
JSR dominated the glass 60–48 and generated 23 second-chance points, helping break the game open after halftime with a 21–10 third quarter.
Maddi Carr kept Flinders within reach early with 27 points and six made threes, while Nyachoop Muot added 10 points and seven rebounds.
However, Flinders shot just 32% from the field and struggled to handle JSR’s ball pressure and physicality around the basket.

Puoch attacked the paint throughout the game and repeatedly generated second-chance opportunities, while Makayla Craven added 20 points and six rebounds to give Rowville a consistent scoring duo.
Rowville controlled the interior battle with 40 paint points and a 52–46 rebounding advantage, building a double-digit lead through the third quarter before surviving late pressure from Marist.
Nikki Parker continued her dominant tournament with 30 points and eight rebounds for Marist, while Bailie Wickham added 19 points and four made threes.
Maya Davies contributed 12 rebounds and five assists, but Marist struggled offensively outside of Parker and Wickham, finishing with just two bench points and shooting 31% from the field.
Rowville managed only six fourth-quarter points but held Marist to two fast-break points for the game and forced enough half-court possessions late to close out the win.

Parker Rivet contributed 16 points, eight rebounds and four assists, repeatedly collapsing the defence and generating paint touches, while Oliver Van Den Brink added 11 points and eight rebounds off the bench.
Berwick dominated the rebounding battle 57–38 and converted 25 offensive rebounds into 27 second-chance points. The Victorian school also received 31 bench points and held Western Heights to 38% shooting overall.
Western Heights stayed within striking distance behind Riak Akhaur, who produced 20 points and seven rebounds off the bench, while Tyrese Kuridu added 12 points and nine rebounds.
However, Berwick’s third-quarter defensive pressure broke the game open, limiting Western Heights to just 13 points while building a double-digit lead entering the final period.

Templestowe built separation during the third quarter, holding Rowville to just 11 points while generating efficient half-court offence through Gill and Singh.
Austin Kirikiri continued his dominant tournament for Rowville with 24 points and six assists, while Achilles Gulic added 17 points and Ivan Muric controlled the glass with 16 rebounds.
Rowville finished with a 55–47 rebounding edge but struggled from the perimeter, shooting just 6-from-28 from three-point range. Templestowe countered with 10 made threes and efficient free-throw shooting late to close the game.
The result set up a boys grand final showdown between Templestowe College and Berwick College.

Barker responded with a massive third quarter, outscoring Rowville 37–13 behind Izabella Mansory’s 31 points and Sasha Claque’s 23-point, six-assist performance to cut deeply into the margin.
But Rowville steadied in the final period, generating quality looks through Craven, Puoch and Vanessa Tavete, while Bridgette Kata and Jordyn Phillips provided key scoring support from the bench and perimeter.
Rowville finished with 27 assists and shot 51% from the field in one of the tournament’s best offensive performances.

Berwick’s depth proved decisive. Jake Shaw contributed 13 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Van Den Brink shot 7-from-10 from the field and Zane Windsor knocked down two threes off the bench.
Templestowe stayed within striking distance behind Singh’s 23 points and Stratford’s eight assists, but Berwick repeatedly answered during the final period to close out the title.
