Josh Giddey has hit a hurdle in what was trending towards an All-Star season for the Bulls star

Josh Giddey's chances of becoming an NBA All-Star have hit a major hurdle after the Chicago Bulls star point guard had his second straight below-par performance as his team was demolished by an undermanned Golden State Warriors.

While Giddey has been mostly consistent for the Bulls this season, even with the team on a seven-game losing streak, that hasn't been the case in his past two appearances against the Indiana Pacers and Golden State, who were without superstars Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.

The 23-year-old still holds averages of 20.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 9.1 assists but had a nine-point game in the defeat to the Pacers and while he still scored 18 points against the Warriors, the man we believe is the perfect fit next to Anthony Davis should the Bulls trade for the Chicago native, was inefficient across the board.

Giddey went 6-from-15 from the field, despite shooting 50% from the three-point line on six attempts, and struggled to take care of the ball against the Warriors team, who has been spearheaded by unheralded guard Pat Spencer.

In other news with Aussies in the NBA, Jock Landale got the best of Boomers teammate Duop Reath in a battle of the Australian bigs, while others remained sidelined with injury.

Australian wing Josh Green remains out of the Charlotte Hornets line-up. He has played in 2025-26 and his timetable to return from a shoulder injury remains uncertain.

NBA Box Score: Portland Trail Blazers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Jock Landale earned bragging rights over his Australian Boomers teammate, Duop Reath, after the Memphis Grizzlies earned a convincing 119-96 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers at FedEx Forum.

Both Aussies had plenty of opportunity with Landale playing 21 minutes off the bench and Reath 19 minutes but it was the former Melbourne United star, who had the better of the match-up with 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.

Landale did it off an efficient 4-from-7 from the field and 7-from-10 from the free-throw line. Reath had 12 points, including 3-from-4 from the three-point line, for the Trail Blazers.

Australian Boomer Matisse Thybulle has played just 19 games in since the start of the 2024-25 season. He played just 15 last season and just four this season and remains out with a thumb injury.

NBA Box Score: Golden State Warriors @ Chicago Bulls

Josh Giddey has had his second below-par game in a row as his Chicago Bulls were dominated by an undermanned Golden State Warriors 123-91 at the United Center.

After a nine-point performance in a loss to the Indiana Pacers on Saturday, Giddey struggled to find his best again against the swarming Warriors defence, only reaching 18 points, five assists and three rebounds along with four turnovers in the 32-point loss.

The former NBL Next Star will need to find his form again quickly, firstly for the Bulls to stop their slide down the Eastern Conference standings but also to give himself any hope of becoming an All-Star this season.
