An Aussie pipeline continues at St Mary's while a big man has made a big move

Two Australian young guns have made big calls on their college basketball future with one committing to a school with a history of developing Aussies and another making a significant move.

Flynn Pavely has committed to Division 1 school Saint Mary’s College. The Centre of Excellence big man is one of Australia’s brightest young big men prospects.

Converted from cricket in 2023, Pavely’s transition to the hardcourt was a seamless one - his 6'11" stature and rim running motor providing an instant impact for New South Wales Metro since his inception in the squad in 2024.

Pavely averaged six points and four rebounds per game across four appearances at the 2025 Under-20 Australian Junior Championship.

While still a project, Pavely’s size, length and mobility provides him with great upside to compete at the Division 1 level.

Saint Mary’s, a long term recruiter of Australian talent, currently have Sydney’s Josh Dent, West Australia’s Harry Wessels and Queensland’s Rory Hawke on the roster.

Australian big man Delang Muon has committed to Division 1 school Arkansas State.

Muon, originally from Melbourne, has already spent two seasons at the Division 1 level with the Southern Jaguars, located in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

After averaging 4.2 points and 3.1 rebounds in 12.3 minutes per game as a freshman, Muon would go on to redshirt his second season with the Jaguars as a result of injury. After the conclusion of the season, Muon transferred to New Mexico Junior College to commence his redshirt sophomore year this season.

At 6'8", Muon is an athletic big capable of finishing above the rim, making energy plays, and making occasional shots from the perimeter.

The big man will graduate Junior College after this season, and continue his college career with Arkansas State for the 2026-27 season.
