Dyson Daniels has caught fire as the Atlanta Hawks recorded arguably their biggest win of the season, beating the red-hot Eastern Conference title favourites the Boston Celtics.
Daniels went 2-from-3 from the three-point line and 8-from-11 from the field for 18 points as Atlanta recorded a 112-102 win over the Celtics at State Farm Arena.
The result ended a dominant month of March for the Hawks, going 13-2 to firmly establish themselves inside the top six of the Eastern Conference and take another giant step towards sealing an automatic playoff appearance with the Philadelphia 76ers trailing by 1.5 games in seventh spot.
"I mean, it's just about letting it fly," Daniels said in hist post-game press conference when asked about his improved shooting during March.
"I put a lot of time into that part of my game, for it to not be where I want it to be, obviously this year's been a very big, dip.
"So, for me it's just about trusting my work, going into every game with the mindset, if I'm open, letting them fly.
"My teammates trust me, coaches trust me, so like I said, I put in too much work to not really go out there and at least try a couple a game."
The Hawks have looked a completely different outfit since the trade deadline after acquiring CJ McCollum, Johnathan Kuminga, Corey Kispert, Jock Landale and more.
Daniels said the new additions have played a major role in Atlanta's recent rise up the standings.
"The new guys have been really good for us, coming in, not just on the floor, but in the locker room as well, building chemistry, in team meetings really speaking up," he said.
"I think our team's just gelling really well at the moment.
"Guys know their role now, everyone's out there playing really hard, playing defence, and we know what it takes to win games now, it's just about doing that night in, night out.
"We're in a spot now where we kind of control our own destiny, so it's about coming in every night with the right intentions, following the scout, and if we can do that, we'll get (the six spot)."

Atlanta’s third-quarter surge — driven by ball movement and shot-making — broke the game open, with Daniels contributing as a secondary creator alongside multiple scoring options.

🇦🇺 Josh Giddey facilitates but Bulls overrun
Australian guard Josh Giddey recorded a 9-point, 7-rebound, 10-assist line in 33 minutes as Chicago fell to a high-powered Spurs outfit on the road.
Giddey shot 3-from-5 from the field and 2-from-3 from three, operating as the Bulls’ primary organiser and consistently creating advantages in half-court sets. His 10 assists led all players, but Chicago struggled to convert enough stops to complement his playmaking.
Despite the efficient night, his -18 plus/minus reflected the team-wide defensive issues against San Antonio’s frontcourt dominance.
Wembanyama dominates interior

San Antonio shot 51% from the field and won the rebounding battle 55–35, repeatedly generating second-chance opportunities (16 offensive rebounds).
Chicago finds offence, not stops
The Bulls produced solid offensive stretches but couldn’t contain San Antonio’s efficiency:
- Tre Jones – 23 points on 9-from-13 shooting
- Leonard Miller – 21 points, 6 rebounds
- Collin Sexton – 20 points off the bench
- Matas Buzelis – 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 blocks
Chicago shot 46% from the field but allowed 129 points on 51% shooting, with interior defence and defensive rebounding proving decisive gaps.
