Dyson Daniels double double adds more Trae doubt
Dyson Daniels starred in defeat as Josh Green contributed off the bench in Hornets win

Speculation that Atlanta Hawks All-Star guard Trae Young will be traded before the deadline continues to grow, more so with each passing game that Australian Dyson Daniels is proving his transition from a two-guard to the one.
NBA Box Score: Atlanta Hawks 117 Toronto Raptors 134
Despite the loss, Dyson Daniels delivered one of Atlanta’s most complete two-way performances, continuing his strong run as the Hawks starting point guard in the absence of Trae Young.
Daniels finished with 20 points, five rebounds, 12 assists, two steals and two blocks in 34 minutes, shooting an efficient 9-of-13 from the field. He was Atlanta’s primary organiser for long stretches, repeatedly collapsing Toronto’s defence off the dribble and finding shooters and cutters, while also anchoring point-of-attack defence.
The Hawks stayed competitive through three quarters, powered by Daniels’ control and Nickeil Alexander-Walker’s scoring, but the game unraveled in the fourth. Toronto closed on a decisive 27–11 final quarter, overwhelming Atlanta with physicality and depth as the Hawks’ offence stalled and transition defence slipped.
While the result fell away late, Daniels’ stat line underscored his growing responsibility within the Atlanta Hawks rotation — trusted to initiate offence, guard multiple positions, and impact the game without dominating usage. Toronto’s balance, led by Brandon Ingram, RJ Barrett and Scottie Barnes, ultimately proved too much for the Hawks to match over 48 minutes.
NBA Box Score: Charlotte Hornets 112 Chicago Bulls 99
Coming off the bench, Josh Green played a clean, low-usage role in Charlotte’s wire-to-wire road win as Chicago played without injured All-Star candidate Josh Giddey for the second straight game.
Green logged 25 minutes and finished with three points, three rebounds and three assists, knocking down 1-of-3 from the field and 1-of-3 from three, while committing zero turnovers. His impact was less about scoring and more about lineup balance — defending multiple perimeter positions, keeping the ball moving, and occupying weak-side help to open driving lanes for Charlotte’s creators.
The game swung early. Charlotte stormed out with a 39–23 first quarter, setting the tone with pace and physicality, and never relinquished control. While Chicago briefly steadied in the second quarter, the Hornets’ depth again told after halftime, winning both the third and fourth quarters behind sustained defensive pressure and rebounding dominance.
Green’s +6 plus-minus reflected that steadiness. He consistently slotted into defensive matchups without fouling, rotated cleanly, and avoided mistakes in transition as Charlotte protected its lead. In bench units alongside Collin Sexton and Sion James, Green helped maintain tempo without forcing offence.
NBA Box Score: Portland Trail Blazers 115 San Antonio Spurs 110
Australian centre Duop Reath was a DNP-coach's decision and Matisse Thybulle is still out injured.
