Sierra Moore completely took over as Goldfields Giants survived an overtime thriller against Perth Redbacks in one of the games of the NBL1 West Women season.
Moore delivered a dominant performance with 36 points, 13 rebounds and 15-from-17 free-throw shooting, repeatedly attacking the paint and controlling overtime after Perth forced the extra period late in regulation.
Goldfields had five players score in double figures, with Delaynie Byrne adding 24 points and 10 rebounds while Hazelle Yam produced 18 points and six assists on efficient shooting.
The Giants overcame Perth’s size and rebounding advantage by protecting the basketball and creating higher-quality offensive possessions late in the game.
Perth stayed within striking distance through Samantha Ashby, who exploded for 34 points and seven assists across 45 minutes, while Shenae Hartree added 21 points on 69% shooting.
Aimee Borchet also produced a double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds, but Perth’s 21 turnovers proved costly in the closing stages and overtime.
Goldfields outscored Perth 11-5 in overtime to secure a critical home victory and strengthen its position inside the top four.

Mandurah Magic 95 def. South West Slammers 80
Mandurah Magic responded strongly after Friday night’s loss to Cockburn, defeating South West Slammers behind a complete team offensive performance.
Mikayla Pivec controlled every aspect of the game, finishing with 19 points, 17 rebounds and nine assists while repeatedly initiating transition offence and creating second-chance opportunities.
Mandurah broke the game open through the middle quarters, outscoring South West 59-30 across the second and third periods after trailing early.
Jade Gowland added 21 points on 66.7% shooting, while Claire Jacobs contributed 14 points and nine rebounds as Mandurah generated efficient interior offence all night.
Sydney Meares also gave the Magic important bench production with 12 points and two blocks.
South West stayed competitive early through Cassidy Lacey-Rameka and Marshaun Bostic, who combined for 48 points, but the Slammers couldn’t consistently contain Mandurah’s rebounding and ball movement.
Mandurah finished with 53 rebounds and 21 assists while shooting better than 50% from the field in one of its most balanced performances of the season.
