NBL1 West stars Anneli Maley and Sami Whitcomb took their talents to the WNBA, while NBL1 East import Chantel Horvat’s finger injury has left one of the league’s biggest scoring starts frozen after one game.
That context matters in the NBL1 Women scoring race. Maley’s 65-point opener for Perth and Horvat’s 37-point Comets debut still sit at the top of the leaderboard, but Whitcomb’s two-game Rockingham burst before leaving for the Phoenix Mercury now gives way to a wider group of active scorers driving the season.
Courtney Woods, Sierra Moore, Keely Froling, Abbey Ellis, Taylah Levy and Dallas Loughridge have become the weekly benchmark players to watch.
They are not just scoring – they are shaping offences across every conference through shooting volume, rebounding, playmaking and pressure at the foul line.
