Australian Josh Giddey has been snubbed by NBA Eastern Conference coaches for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game.
He was not named as one of the Eastern Confreence reserves despite averaging a near triple double.
Giddey, 23, was injured on December 30 and has missed more than a dozen games recovering from a hamstring strain.
He may still be at the game as part of the "World Team" in the new format this year.
The NBA and NBPA have introduced a U.S. vs. World format for the 2026 NBA All-Star Game, to be held on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, and broadcast by NBC/Peacock.
The event will feature three teams — two U.S. teams and one World team — competing in a round-robin tournament of four 12-minute games. Each team will have at least eight players.
All 24 All-Stars will still be selected through the existing process: starters chosen by fans, players and media, and reserves by head coaches, without position requirements. Players will then be allocated to teams, with the assignment process for the two U.S. teams to be confirmed later. If voting does not produce at least 16 U.S. players and eight international players, the commissioner may add players to meet those minimums.
Tournament play will see the two U.S. teams face off first, with winners and losers then rotating against the World team. The top two teams by record advance to the final, with point differential used as a tiebreaker if all teams finish 1–1.
